#PRQuote: Be Heard all the Way

Currently in Lagos, Nigeria, there is a campaign by a Fintech company that I am paraphrasing, “Village People are not more interested in your business, you need the right partners.”

Many times, one has heard senior executives say they dislike the spotlight; they prefer to do their business in their private corners, making money without noise. As I said in the last edition, if you are not putting out stories basically, you do not exist!

Today, I am expanding on what was said in the movie, “People I Know”, the main character, Eli Wurman, made it known to a social advocate, Revd Blunt, that he needs to be heard beyond New York, the locale of the movie, he needs to be heard from Oakland to Washington DC. If not, the campaign would amount to another babbling voice in the dark.

Inasmuch as some people might be media-shy, we need the media to position and share our great narratives. There are many organisations that are doing well, but they have not desisted from creating strategic campaigns from time to time. Coca-Cola is an excellent example.

We have hidden enough and we need to be heard all the way from our locale to the world. I would assume that the Mungo Park brothers capitalized on the media and they announced the discovery of River Niger and Congo. Interestingly, those who lived around these river banks would have been fishing, drinking, washing and doing other sorts with these bodies of water.

It is time to put the Biblical injunction to use, “No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.” Luke 11:33. Take your business to the candlestick of the marketplace and turn it into a global brand.

Do you want to measure how much you have been heard in recent times, just type your name and your brand name on Google search and see if there is anything that shows who you are as a professional and reflects your line of business?

You need to be heard, seen, and known. All you have to do is to take those steps towards being visible across various media platforms- print, electronic and new media, the world is waiting to hear from you, if only you are willing to open up and speak by using all the resources around you to your advantage.
